Sometimes Success Gets Into Head' - N Srinivasan on the Rift in CSK Camp

Chennai Super Kings franchise has faced a couple of hiccups heading into the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) in UAE. 13 members including players have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in CSK camp and Suresh Raina has will not be available in the entire tournament.

Earlier, it was said that due to a personal matter Raina took the decision but a recent report in Outlook revealed that there was a rift between him and the captain MS Dhoni. N Srinivasan has said that the team will get over from this situation and referred to it as 'success gets into the heads'.

A report in Outlook on Sunday said that Suresh Raina was not happy with the hotel room he was given. He found the COVID-19’s bio-bubble rules quite claustrophobic and wanted a room with a balcony like the captain.

As per the report, N Srinivasan said that Raina's sudden exit has left the team in a shock but captain MS Dhoni has controlled the situation quite well.

"Cricketers are like prima donnas ... like the temperamental actors of the olden days. Chennai Super Kings have always been like a family and all seniors players have learnt to co-exist," told N Srinivasan.

"My thinking is that if you are reluctant or not happy, go back. I don't force anyone to do anything ... sometimes success gets into your head," Srinivasan further added.

"I spoke to MS (Dhoni) and he has assured me that even if the numbers go up, there was nothing to worry. He spoke to the players through a zoom call and asked them to remain safe. You really don't know who is a passive carrier," he shared.

As per the N Srinivasan, Suresh Raina wanted to return before the cash-rich league starts.

"The season has not begun yet and Raina will certainly realise what he is missing and certainly all the money (a salary of 11 crores per season) he is going to lose," the CSK boss said.

The IPL will begin from September 19 in UAE and end on November 10.
